World Nutrition (WN) is an international, peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journal dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge, informing policy development, and strengthening professional practice in public health nutrition. Published quarterly by the World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHNA), the journal offers a global platform for disseminating high-quality research and critical perspectives on the complex biological, social, political, economic, and environmental determinants of nutrition, health, and well-being across diverse populations.
Since its establishment, World Nutrition has strengthened evidence-based nutrition interventions, shaped international policy dialogue, and promoted equitable, community-centred approaches to public health. The journal publishes original research articles, systematic and scoping reviews, policy analyses, evidence-based commentaries, methodological papers, and scholarly discussions that examine nutrition from multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives. Its scope spans local, national, regional, and global contexts in both low-income and high-income settings.
World Nutrition serves a broad international community of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and advocates, including nutritionists, dietitians, public health professionals, agricultural and social scientists, epidemiologists, community health workers, humanitarian actors, and civil society organisations. The journal is firmly committed to the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, justice, and human rights and actively encourages submissions that address structural determinants of nutrition, including gender equity, socioeconomic disparities, food systems transformation, planetary health, and environmental sustainability.
The journal operates under a diamond open-access publishing model, ensuring that all articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription barriers, and that authors are not charged article processing fees (APCs) for research manuscripts. All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) via Crossref to ensure persistent discoverability, citability, interoperability, and long-term digital accessibility.
World Nutrition adheres strictly to international best practice in scholarly publishing, editorial governance, and research integrity. The journal follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. All submissions undergo rigorous double-blind peer review by independent external experts, under the oversight of the Editor-in-Chief and an internationally diverse Editorial Board. The journal maintains robust policies on publication ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, data integrity, corrections, retractions, and post-publication dialogue.
To ensure long-term preservation and global accessibility, World Nutrition employs persistent digital archiving and preservation systems compliant with international standards and publishes structured full-text articles in formats compatible with modern indexing, discovery, and archiving platforms.
World Nutrition is currently indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Asian Science Citation Index (ASCI), Semantic Scholar, AGRIS, OpenAlex, Google Scholar, Scilit, Exaly, CiteFactor, and several academic discovery services. It continues to strengthen its editorial quality, publishing infrastructure, and international visibility in line with the evolving standards of leading global indexing and abstracting databases.
